Description:
We have identified an issue where some Amplitude connections are failing with the error "java.net.SocketException: Unexpected end of file from server"
Timeline:
The issue began on November 17th at 19:30 GMT and was resolved on November 17th at 23:30.
Cause:
Transient network connectivity issues between Fivetran infrastructure and Amplitude's Export API caused socket connection termination during HTTP response streaming.
The java.net.SocketException: Unexpected end of file from server errors occurred at HttpClient.parseHTTPHeader() indicating Amplitude servers prematurely closed TCP connections during large export response transmission.
Resolution:
The intermittent source-side incident self-resolved after approximately 4 hours without any Fivetran code changes or configuration updates.
